Iron Wolf Saber brought up a great idea, which is

Now my reason to make this thread is to go deeper into this. For example, now that player trading is up and running we have the harsh reality of New Eden. Players scamming other players. Now if bounty was implemented somehow into the game, it give mercs the ability to hunt down players for a cash reward. The thing about bounties is that it could be done with and without CCP support. Meaning if it isn't somehow part of the game such as "enter bounty, players name, reason for bounty etc" like an actual system being part of the game. This still can be one by via forums/chat channel in game. I think it would just be more awesome if you have an active bounty system running in the game. For different reasons. You either run into someone a lot, they keep owning you or annoying the sh!f out of you. They TK you a lot during FW, or stole your kills a lot. Or just stole your tank, stealing a tank is more than enough of a reason to want someone hunted down. They somehow betrayed you, either scammed you during a trade or messed up something in your corp and such. Or you just hate their gut want them stalked.
Bounties could be required to be carried out by just a kill. Other bounties can be carried out by killing them with a specific weapon. Some bounties can be carried out by stealing someone's vehicle, like how many of you would love to pay someone to steal Dunas tanks?
The reward for a bounty could be either fixed or have different levels of payment such as A reward for killing them with a weapon of choice A reward for taking them out + squad a reward for taking them and any corp members of the same corp out just some ideas that would make one think about how to kill someone
Who else seems interested in organizing a bounty system for dust?
EDIT: What if the bounty was created to make sure a player goes negative during a battle? That could be a type of a bounty
[IDEA]Bounty CCP Support Have some sort of system to place a bounty on someone, and a form of tracking there where abouts like -Current Server -Current gamemode played or most played game mode -Is the bountied online or offline -Is the bounty solo'ing or in a squad etc. Have a form of actually following them implemented in the game(Maybe because this could be abused) -Only players who register in for the bounty can have access to the above system -maybe have a max of players that can enter the bounty -if it's a corp bounty, it could be a raider corp and such vs that bounty etc
Bounty no CCP support:
Somehow track bounty, by just seeing if you run into them - player A was last seen "gamemode, time and timezone, game mode etc" keep track of bounties via forums, keep tabs on the bounty via chat channel/forums
Jonny D Buelle wrote:How about people can pay others to track for them. In the non CCP Support one. Or trackers take a cut from the bouny itself when collected. The reasoning is that bounty hunters in the no CCP support will have difficult time posting proof of kills in some matches unless constantly recording the match. So instead they post location time etc and get a small cut of the bounty.Time must be EVE time. This will also mean that some people can become dedicated trackers and get paid that way. Hell I wouldn't mind being a tracker. However Trackers should only get paid if the bounty is taken out within an hour of them posting the info. This way it insures a decent payout for the hunter.
Payment System for bounty CCP support:
Once bounty has been fulfilled you will automatically get paid by a npc or such. [other ideas pending]
Payment System for bounty No CCP support
Jonny D Buelle wrote:Just thought of a fair payment system for no CCP Support Bounties:
Dedicated Broker is given the ISK for the bounty to hold onto. When bounty is completed, the broker keeps 10% of the bounty, the most recent tracker of the bounty gets 20% and the bounty hunter gets 70%. Reason why the broker gets the smallest percentage is because they (in theory) will have multiple bounties to look after and will be making more than the trackers (which will be very competitive). Hunters get the most only because they were the ones who completed the bounty.A tracker can complete the bounty if they choose (and provide proof), with the same conditions (see hunters pay)If a Hunter completes the bounty without a tracker (no tracker posts on the bounty target) they get the full 90%. Hunters can also choose to tip the broker or the tacker if they want to be kind.
any ideas? will update this with more ideas |
